The U.S. automotive aftermarket is not built around a single type of driver. It includes daily-driven projects, off-road vehicles, tow rigs, performance builds, and race cars, each shaped by a different community and set of expectations.

Understanding those differences is central to Andrew Wagoner’s work as Director of U.S. Product and Market Strategy at MaXpeedingrods. Following his recent visit to the company’s HQ, Andrew shared how his motorsport background, discussions with product teams, and firsthand look at the company’s operations inform his perspective on the American market.

Meet Andrew Wagoner

Andrew’s career has taken him through motorsport and precision manufacturing, environments where performance is measured in practical results.

“I’ve spent my career in motorsport and precision manufacturing, where a part either performs or the weekend is over,” he said.

At MaXpeedingrods, Andrew leads the company’s efforts to bring its products to the American market. His role is to help ensure that the products offered by the brand reflect what U.S. drivers actually need.

“The American market is huge, with many different car cultures, and the products MaXpeedingrods offers today already serve many of them,” Andrew explained.

A Closer Look Behind the Products

From August 24 to 28, 2026, Andrew took part in a five-day program at MaXpeedingrods HQ. The visit included factory and production tours, time in the racing workshop, and discussions with the HQ Product Development Team.

At the factory facilities, Andrew saw manufacturing and assembly activities as well as machining operations. Seeing these processes firsthand gave him more context for the products and the work of the teams behind them.

His discussions with the product teams covered several automotive aftermarket categories, including suspension systems, turbochargers, helper air spring systems, and lift, lowering, and towing solutions.

From Product Ideas to Customer Needs

Every product category presents different questions. A suspension component, turbocharger, or towing-related product may serve a different vehicle, application, and type of customer. That makes the connection between product knowledge and market insight particularly important.

During the working sessions, Andrew learned more about how the individual teams approach new products, modifications, and version updates. He also followed how an initial idea can be developed on paper, shaped into a concept and prototype, and ultimately prepared for production.

The conversations gave Andrew an opportunity to provide feedback and share observations from the U.S. market. American customers want to understand what a product is intended for, whether it suits their vehicle and goals, and what to expect during installation. Clear product information and instructions therefore play an important role in helping enthusiasts make informed choices for their builds.

One Market, Many Automotive Communities

American car culture consists of many overlapping communities. A driver building a street car may have different priorities from someone preparing a truck for towing or an off-road vehicle for weekend use. Racers and experienced builders may focus on still other details.

For Andrew, serving this diverse market begins with listening. Customer feedback can help MaXpeedingrods understand how its products are used in real-world applications and how product information and packages can reflect different customer needs.

This approach also supports one of the brand’s long-standing goals: keeping automotive upgrades accessible to a broad community of enthusiasts while responding to changing expectations.

Racing as a Shared Language

The visit to the MaXpeedingrods racing workshop brought Andrew back to familiar ground. He met the people involved, viewed current race car builds, and gained a clearer understanding of the racing program and its current stage of development.

The experience reminded him of newer racing teams he had previously worked with in America. Those teams were learning about their vehicles and identifying the products that best supported their programs. That background gives Andrew a practical perspective on how racing organizations develop and where his experience can contribute.

Motorsport also provides a natural connection between MaXpeedingrods and the enthusiasts it serves. The workshop reflects a shared interest in learning, building, and pursuing performance.

The Road Ahead

Andrew believes authenticity matters in the U.S. market. Automotive enthusiasts can tell whether a brand is genuinely interested in their vehicles, projects, and communities.

For MaXpeedingrods, building that connection means becoming more involved with automotive communities and clubs, listening to customers, and understanding what they want from their builds. It also means helping drivers feel that they are part of the MaXpeedingrods community rather than simply purchasing a part.

Founded in 2006, MaXpeedingrods has spent approximately 20 years making automotive aftermarket products more accessible. With Andrew helping bring the perspectives of American drivers closer to the company, the next stage is about strengthening that connection and continuing to open the gateway to performance driving.
